Hansen's at the Women & Children Precious Shelter!

Over the past two (2) years the Hansen's Group of Companies HGC's has been proudly funding the Women & Children Precious Shelter (WCPS) supporting the Peel Region.

On December 16, 2023 Annette Dhanasar, Director - Human Resources at the Hansen's Group attended the 2023 Holiday Celebrations at Shelter to spend time with Women and Children.

It was a heartwarming event to meet with Pastor Hope Samuels also a Case Manager, Social Workers and event Sponsors - Elm & Oak Real Estate who are engaged with the WCPS.

Annette rendered a song which captured the heart of a young boy who came forward and expressed his feelings. Annette shared with the audience "there is never a good time to be kind and bring inspiration to someone, feelings and emotions can be lifted in a single moment."

The WCPS was founded by two Nurse Practitioners: Angella Dacres - Executive Director, WCPS and Tamara Whilby - Director, WCPS approximately two years ago, they currently have a small in-house team and amazing volunteers from the community who provide a range of Women Empowerment, Educational Services, Employment Services, Housing Programs, Health & Wellness along with the essential support much needed by the community:

• A Safe and Secure Shelter For Women and Children Fleeing Abuse,  24-Hours/ 7 Days per Week

• Private & Confidential Support Assistance (24-Hours) by Telephone or In Person

• Emergency Transportation to the Shelter

• Food, Clothing and Basic Personal Necessities upon Arrival

• Children & Youth Support Staff Available

• Assistance finding Community Resources and Support

• Legal and Court support Referrals and Information as Required

• Assistances with Special Priority for Housing (geared to income)

• Assistance with Educational Programs

• Language Interpretation can be arranged

• Counselling Support Available
